Dala Films is headed up by sole owner, Lauren Scholtz, and offers film and television scriptwriting, story development and executive producer services.
Lauren Scholtz is a Capetonian actress, screenwriter and emerging independent filmmaker. She has a BA Honours in Film Studies (UCT) and over 15 years’ experience as an Ad Agency TVC Producer (Ogilvy SA, The Jupiter Drawing Room, Saatchi & Saatchi). Her acting credits include roles in Arendsvlei, Blood and Water, The Devil Speaks, Die Sentrum, American Monster and award-winning film 2 Thirds of a Man. Most recently she participated in writers’ rooms with Beyond Reel Entertainment, on the thriller series All The Lost Girls and Infinity Films on Troukoors S1 (Showmax). Through her own company, Dala Films, she’s currently in the final stages of development on her drama feature film script Ma Se Kinders and is raising funds to produce the docuseries: Grandmaster DJ Ready D – Beyond The Struggle, a historically relevant and much-needed exploration into the life and times of SA’s iconic and original Grandmaster: DJ Ready D.
